Itinerary

  • Morning

    Your day begins early with a drive from Arusha to Marangu Gate, located on the eastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, you will complete park registration formalities and meet your professional mountain guide, who will provide a briefing on the hike and safety guidelines.

    The hike starts through dense montane rainforest along a well-maintained trail. As you ascend gradually, your guide will point out unique plant species, wildlife signs, and the changing environment, while maintaining a steady pace suitable for acclimatization and enjoyment.

  • Afternoon

    After several hours of hiking, you will reach Mandara Hut, where you can relax and enjoy your packed lunch while taking in the surrounding forest scenery. On clear days, there may be glimpses of Maundi Crater, a short walk from the hut, offering views toward Kenya and the lower slopes of the mountain.

    Following lunch, you will begin your descent back to Marangu Gate along the same trail. The downhill hike is gentler and allows time to fully appreciate the rainforest atmosphere, with chances to spot wildlife and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature.

    Upon reaching Marangu Gate, you will sign out and receive your hiking certificate before meeting your driver for the return journey to Arusha. The drive back offers time to relax after an active day on the mountain.
