Itinerary

  • Morning

    Your safari begins early with a drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, passing through local villages and farmlands before reaching the park gate. After registration, you’ll enter the park and immediately begin your game drive through the dense groundwater forest, where baboons, blue monkeys, and bushbucks are commonly seen.

    As the morning progresses, you’ll move deeper into the park toward open plains and acacia woodlands. This is an excellent time to spot giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and—if lucky—the famous tree-climbing lions resting in the branches, all while enjoying the cool and quiet morning atmosphere.

  • Afternoon

    Around midday, you’ll take a break for lunch at a designated picnic site within the park, often overlooking the lake or wildlife-rich plains. This relaxed pause allows you to take in the surrounding scenery and observe animals as they move closer to water sources during the warmer hours.

    After lunch, the safari continues with further exploration of the lakeshore and floodplain areas. Here, you’ll encounter hippos, flamingos, pelicans, and a wide variety of other bird species, making Lake Manyara a paradise for bird lovers and photographers alike.

  • Evening

    In the late afternoon, you’ll begin your final game drive while slowly exiting the park. The changing light offers beautiful sunset views along the Rift Valley escarpment and provides last chances to spot wildlife as animals become more active again.
