This day is dedicated to acclimatization, which is crucial for a successful summit. After breakfast, you have the option to take a short acclimatization hike to Zebra Rocks (about 4,000m) or further up to the Mawenzi Saddle. These hikes help your body adjust to the altitude and offer spectacular views. After the hike, you will return to Horombo Hut for lunch and spend the rest of the day resting. Dinner will be served at the hut, and you can take the opportunity to rest and prepare for the ascent to Kibo Hut.

After an early breakfast, you will depart from Horombo Hut and head towards Kibo Hut. The trail initially passes through the heath zone, characterized by sparse vegetation and moorland grasses, before entering the alpine desert zone. This section of the trek is more challenging due to the higher elevation and the barren, rocky terrain.
As you ascend, you will enjoy spectacular views of Mawenzi Peak and the expansive saddle that connects Mawenzi to Kibo. The trail is less steep but longer, with a gradual incline that tests your endurance. A packed lunch will be provided to keep your energy levels up during the hike.
By mid-afternoon, you will arrive at Kibo Hut (4,703m), a stone structure situated at the base of Kibo Peak. Here, you will rest and prepare for the final summit push. An early dinner will be served, and you will go to bed early to ensure you get as much rest as possible before the midnight ascent.

Your summit day begins around midnight with a wake-up call and a light meal. The final ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) starts at 1:00 AM. The trail is steep and challenging, passing through the arctic zone. You will climb to Gillman's Point (5,685m) on the crater rim, then continue along the rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Reaching the summit at sunrise is a breathtaking experience, offering stunning views and a sense of accomplishment.
After celebrating at the summit and taking photos, you will begin your descent back to Kibo Hut for a short rest and breakfast. You will then continue your descent to Horombo Hut, where you will have dinner and spend the night, reflecting on your achievement.
